We exchanged gifts in the morning. I got him an Orient Blue Mako watch that he has been wanting for a while now and a fun card!
Jonathan completely surprised me with a handmade gift!!! Those mean a LOT more to me than something bought! He got a jar, scrapbook paper, and confetti strips from Michael's. Then wrote 32 small notes/quotes about love and stuck them in the jar. I am supposed to open one a day. And he even used our wedding colors for it all!!! I absolutely LOVE it!!! And I got some pretty flowers as well!
Later in the day we went to Matador Meat and Wine and got some steak then off to Central Market to get the rest of our dinner. We ended up getting twice baked potatoes and asparagus! It was nice not having to actually cook it...just warm it up in the oven! Gotta love me some Central Market!! ;) Jonathan did cook the steak though! And of course it was all super delicious!!!
My sweet husband!!
For dessert we had our wedding cake! The bakery, Delicious Cakes, that did our wedding cake said we could come back on our first anniversary and they would make us our wedding cake for free so we wouldn't have to save the top tier. So of course I went and picked up our cake on Saturday. We also had them make the groom's cake as well but we paid for that one! The groom's cake was the best...it was mexican chocolate cake! My cake was princess cake with strawberry filling...still very good!
Here are our actual wedding cakes from our wedding....
I was talking to one of my friends, Taren, and she said that on every anniversary her and her husband take a picture and stick it in a photo album. So I decided to copy her idea and do the same. Of course its going to take a long time to fill up a photo album. But here is the photo we are going to put in the album for our first anniversary!
We also watched our ceremony and reception highlight video that Jonathan put together himself last summer. It was such good memories and I couldn't help but think how much I would just love to relive that day...just the day not the whole planning part! lol Here is our ceremony highlight video....(couldn't get the reception video to work!)
And just for fun....this is our time lapse video Jonathan set up in the atrium. Basically this camera took a picture every 30 seconds or so...not really sure. But when you put it all together it kinda looks like a video! He had set it up the day before while we were decorating.
Jonathan and I talked about how blessed we are to have the life we live and that we get to live it together! I cannot thank God enough for all the blessings he has given us this first year of marriage! We have done many things and gone to so many different places in the last year! It makes us excited to see where this next year will take us!
