Texas State Fair!

This week Jonathan and I decided to go to the fair! We really just wanted to go to see if our soon to be new car (acadia denali) was at the auto show....we have only seen pictures online. We also had two free tickets....since I am a teacher I got a free ticket and his mom is too so we used hers! Thanks Karon! ;) We went during the week after work which was so nice! We parked super close and it wasn't even that crowded! Oh and did I mention the perfect weather...AMAZING! I heart fall!

We were kind of having our doubts that we would get to see what our car would look like in person but once we made it to where all the GMC cars were at we spotted it!!! I was beyond excited!! Unfortunately they had it all blocked off so we couldn't really get too close to it! We should have our new car by the beginning of November! (Marina....can you believe I still drive that red honda...almost 11 years later!!!! haha...I remember when we both go our red cars our senior year! Oh so long ago!)

You definitely can't go to the fair without getting a Fletcher's Corny Dog and taking a picture in front of Big Tex! Oh so fattening and good!!!
I also probably added about 10 more pounds when we decided to try a few other fried foods! While we were waiting in line to get our corny dog this lady was talking about how good the fried butter was and that it tasted like a really buttery biscuit! Of course I was like I do like biscuits and thought that I would definitely have to try it.
Boy was that lady wrong! It was so disgusting!!! It was like eating raw cinnamon/honey dough with butter! I only ate half of one of them. (Oh, by the way, Jonathan and I shared all the foods we tried! lol)

We also tried the fried frito pie! Now I was not to thrilled to try this but Jonathan insisted that we do....
and it was SO GOOD! I would definitely recommend this! It may not look good but it was!!

Up next was the new fried margarita! They got a small plastic margarita glass and put pieces of funnel cake inside, poured a little bit of margarita on it, and topped it with whip cream....
This was NOT GOOD!!! It tasted like pieces of soggy bread in some nastiness! Blah!!!! Jonathan thought it was ok though.

Our last thing we decided to try was the fried pizza. I am not sure if this was new or not. It was just a regular slice of pizza with some batter over it then they just fried it.
Now this was really good! I could eat this all the time but then again I would balloon up like an elephant!! Out of everything we tried this was the best by far!

And nope if you are wondering, we didn't try the fried beer. It probably would have been nasty anyways! ;)

The Cotton Bowl is right in the middle of the fair!! The site of this Saturday's UT/OU game! We are not going (maybe one year! Jonathan has been before though.) but we do hope UT pulls through with a win. Realistically though I highly doubt it! But GO LONGHORNS anyways!

3 Months!

I can't believe that I have been a wife for 3 months now! Yay! I love my new "job"! So this month I have decided to post my top ten reasons why I have the best husband ever! Sorry if it's a little too corny for ya! ;)

10. He is so AMAZING at math! I know it sounds nerdy but this totally comes in handy when it comes to finances!! Before we got married he helped me with my budget and did an awesome job at it! I am so blessed that he knows what he is doing when it comes to money! Plus, when we have kids and they get passed 2nd grade math, then he can help them do their homework! haha! ;)

9. He thinks that I am the prettiest girl he knows! He is always telling me I look beautiful even when I know I don't! So glad he likes me for who I am!

8. He knows about computers...yes I know...nerdy but hey I never have to pay someone to fix computers anymore! No more GEEEK Squad for me or whatever they are called! hahaha!

7. He is definitely a Mr. Fix It! He seriously can fix ANYTHING! Before we got married his refrigerator started leaking water and wasn't working and he fixed it! And just this last weekend our he fixed the shower in our extra bathroom...it didn't have any hot water! He has taught me its better to try and learn how to fix it than pay for a new one...unless you can't really fix it! ;)

6. He wants to always make sure I am one happy girl! Pretty much this whole list sums up what he does to try and make me happy! Oh, and he helps me hang fall decorations too! ;) He is doing a darn good job too!

5. He will go to Canton Trade Days! Seriously...what guy would drop everything to go to Canton Trade Days and watch their wife shop for 4 hours and hold everything they have bought! Now this might be the only time he does but at least he did it once!

4. He works really hard! He works so much to provide for the both of us and to give us a better life for the future! I am also just very thankful he has a job!

3. He has a wonderful family! I definitely couldn't have asked for better in-laws! They are so welcoming and loving! It also helps that Jonathan doesn't have a sister, because that makes me the only girl besides his mom! ;)

2. He loves me! What more can I say!

1. He loves God!!! What more can I say!

Of course there are many many more reasons but ten is good enough for the blog! And I can't do a post without a picture so here is the very first picture I ever saw of him!

Oh I love him so much!

Weekend in San Antonio!!

About two weeks ago Jonathan and I spent the weekend in SA to celebrate one of my bestest friend's daughter's first birthday...make sense! ;) It was so good to see D'Lynn and Brooke over the weekend. I definitely wish we could have spent more time together! I am also very thankful for my wonderful husband who drove me all the way down to SA so I wouldn't have to go alone! He also braved a 1 year old's birthday party!

Here are some pics of the weekend:

How can you not love this face....

Brooke definitely loved her birthday cake!

So did Jonathan.... ;)

The next morning we ate breakfast at Cracker Barrel...Brooke was still recuperating from her party I think! ;)

Happy Birthday Miss Brooke!!! I can't wait to see you celebrate many more!

Oh and Happy Birthday to her momma too! ;) Love you!

My "future office"

Ok so I don't normally blog this much in a row but I have been looking at other blogs and I am loving their cute little work areas. It is making me want to create one for my self. Here is what I have found so far...
I think this might actually be from Country Living. But its so cute how they turned the closet into a little office! And I am LOVING the colors!!!
The next pictures I just found on this blog, http://thisblessednest.blogspot.com/
She has some super cute ideas! But here is her work space...

I love how she organized everything! So freakin cute!!!

Love the rest of these pictures I found...

All I need to do now is found a spot in the house for my "work space" and sweet talk the hubby into letting me do it..although I am pretty sure he might think the laundry room is already my office! jk! ;)

Two Months!

Ok so it's technically two months and a few days now that I am getting around to posting on this blog! Well it's been a great two months. We are definitely learning to live with each other a little better but by no means are we a perfect couple but we still love each other lots!!! It's a lot of work but well worth it!

In the past month we have:
-refinanced our house
-ordered a brand new car..sight unseen!! We will be getting the Acadia Denali. We are very excited but it won't be in until October or November...I am thinking it will probably be November.
-Jonathan has been working very hard on our wedding videos! They are looking really good! I'll post them later when they are finished!
-We got our wedding pictures finally! I was sooo excited to get them...all 1500 of them!! Here are a few of my favorites...

The prettiest green shoes ever!!!!!!!!!!

All pics were taken by www.twopairphotography.com

-We are also back to our normal routine! I started back to work! I am loving my new group of students so far! I didn't realize how stressed I was from wedding planning all last year! I am so much more relaxed and because of that it will be a much better year! Here is the best team in the world to work with! Love all of them!!
Rita, Jennie, Me, Ashley, and Taren

Here is the entrance into my classroom this year...oh and a new change, obviously...I am now Mrs. Phelps! Still trying to get used to that! Don't you love the cute sign above my door! My favorite friend ever, D'Lynn, made it for me!

-I have also made a quilt! I don't have the finished product just yet but here it is so far! I'll post the finished product when it gets done! :)

I think that might be all that I can remember or at least worth sharing! ;) The next month will have tons more posts...hopefully! Our schedule is looking pretty busy for September!

Mesquite Rodeo!

A few weeks ago Jonathan and I went to the Mesquite Rodeo with two of our friends, John and Tiffany! I so wish we got a picture of us all together but we didn't. :( I honestly didn't think we would have a lot of fun but we did! I definitely think the bull riding was the best but watching some kids dance for a contest was hilarious...wish I would have videotaped that!  Here are some pictures we took while we were there...

So the picture below shows some kids all lined up about to chase after a poor little sheep that has a tag attached to its tail! Who ever got the tag off won a prize...not sure what! It was chaos, and I felt really bad for the sheep and those little kids that got knocked over!

Nothing like free entertainment I suppose!

First month of married life....

I can't believe Jonathan and I have been married for one month! The last month has flown by so fast! That only means summer is almost over too! The best thing about this past month, besides getting married, would definitely have to be our trip to Hawaii! Besides getting hurt on the moped, I LOVED Hawaii! If you ever go to Oahu, you have to stay at the Moana Surfrider Hotel! It was AMAZING! It's one of the oldest hotels in Oahu!

This was the view from our room! I wish I was back there now!
Jonathan made two short video clips from the honeymoon and once I know how to load them up on here then I will do it!

I also managed to pack my entire apartment and move into Jonathan's house during this last month! I have also unpacked all but 3 boxes...I did that the first week too! ;) Living in a house is so much better than an apartment! I am very grateful that I don't have to climb 3 flights of stairs anymore especially when I have just gone grocery shopping! One thing I am very excited about is decorating the house for the holidays! I am going to try and talk Jonathan into buying a new Christmas tree this year. We found the one we wanted (or I should say I wanted!) last year but we decided to wait to get it...maybe we will get it this year! But for now I think I will just enjoy the rest of my summer while I still have it and not think about Christmas just yet...even though Hobby Lobby already has all the fall and Christmas stuff out already! I think that's just ridiculous!!!!

I think in the last month I have also cooked a lot more...which really isn't saying a whole lot! I guess I am trying to become a little more "domesticated" with cooking and decorating the house! HA! It has been a lot of fun using all our new little kitchen toys we got as wedding gifts!  My favorite kitchen toy is my red kitchen aid mixer! It was a Christmas/early wedding gift to us from my parents! I haven't used it that much yet but I am in LOVE with it! I wanted a pink one but Jonathan said no to that! Oh well I am glad I have one no matter what the color! Maybe I will try and use it tonight for dinner/dessert! ;)
